Initiative
Greening Landfill
Waste from aircraft offload ends up in landfill or in incineration.

This is an expense for the airline and a great cost to the environment.

Landfill space is increasingly less available resulting in escalating municipal charges to the airlines or caterer.
A study by MIT* revealed some 37% of aircraft offload was made up of single use plastics and other retrievable materials.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Management, Sustainable Business Lab Course (S-Lab), study of Circularity of Cabin Waste
The Greening of Landfill initiative is simple and easy to implement.
In essence, it is the separation of single-use plastics from waste offload.

This will reduce dramatically the volume of waste trucked to landfill and importantly reduce the landfill charges paid by the airline or caterer.

One single action is required to help the planet and benefit from reduced landfill charges.
Install an RMRF (Recyclable Materials Retrieval Facility) somewhere near the offload area at the rear of the catering operation.
InfiniteLives will operate the RMRF or you can do it yourself.

Alternatively, InfiniteLives will advise on the setting up and training of your team to operate your own RMRF

Watch your landfill charges decline rapidly.

One action today can prevent single use plastics proliferating landfill.
An InfiniteLives RMRF operator separates single-use plastics, packaging and other materials from the offload waste. Plastics are identified by type and processed type by type.
All retrieved materials, including plastics, are washed, flaked and semi-repurposed onsite.

Some modern retrievable materials (e.g. limestone) can be repurposed up to five times from their original state.

Again, you can do it yourself or ask InfiniteLives to operate for you. Either way don't delay. Every day counts for the environment.
